Unlike the best-known industrial production
robots, the robotic "agents" listed below, do not work alone. They
help only to expand the human capabilities over our natural boundaries and
thus to increase surgical precision. The minimally invasive surgery has
brought a tremendous improvement in patient comfort and shortened the
hospital stay by reducing the surgical trauma. Parallel to the growing
experience of the surgeon, enhanced robotic technology helps to improve the
working ergonomics, to regain the lost sense of touch and to perfect the
tissue dissection. This increases both the intraoperative surgical
efficiency, as well as the procedural quality.
